£150 off your electricity bill each winter — automatic for most who qualify
The Warm Home Discount is a one-off £150 discount applied directly to your electricity bill each winter. For most eligible households, it's applied automatically — you don't need to do anything. There are two groups: Core Group 1 (Pension Credit recipients — automatic) and Core Group 2 (low-income households on other qualifying benefits — may need to apply).
If you receive Pension Credit Guarantee Credit, the £150 is applied automatically each October–March.
Not all suppliers participate. Check at gov.uk/warm-home-discount-scheme.
If you're on other qualifying benefits, you may need to apply through your supplier. Deadlines are typically November–January.
The £150 appears as a credit on your electricity bill, usually between October and March.
