How to apply — step by step

1

Confirm you are off the gas grid

Check your energy bills — if you use oil, LPG, or electric heating only, you're likely off-grid.

2

Contact your local council

HUG is delivered by local authorities. Contact yours to check if you are in a participating area.

3

Income and EPC assessment

Your council will verify your income and arrange an EPC assessment if needed.

4

Survey and works

An approved contractor surveys your home and installs approved measures at no cost.
